Continuo Base Basecoat For Microcement Applications on Floors & Walls

Regular price From £72.00

Continuo Base is a cementitious basecoat which contains resins, developed by San Marco for use as part of the Continuo Microcement System. With high mechanical resistance, it is an ideal anticrack coating to use for floors. In order for the anticrack to prevent cracking, our glass fibre mesh should be embedded into the first, of this 2 coat application. We also recommend that the anticrack coating is applied on walls, especially where there are risks of movement of the substrate, in order to protect against cracks.

Purchasing the complete Continuo Microcement System will provide a significant discount over purchasing individual components. These have been made available to purchase separately for specific circumstances where only one component is needed.

Disclaimers

  • The coverage of the Continuo Base has been tested to cover around 10sqm on 2 coats, per 25kg quantity. It is very important to understand that there are elements that can increase the consumption of the basecoat:

1) If a surface is uneven, the basecoat can act as a leveller. This will increase consumption. If the working substrate is not adequately prepared, we recommend using a lower cost leveller in order to reduce the consumption of Continuo Base, as it would be more cost effective.

2) Any stop or corner beads, can also increase the consumption of the basecoat, as a minimum thickness has to be applied near these. This should be taken into account when calculating consumption.
