Atomo is a deeply penetrating primer with nanotechnology that forms a bonding layer on a porous substrate. Atomo can be used to control the absorption levels of surfaces such as freshly plastered walls or chalky surfaces. This helps to prepare any porous surface, for the application of a further primer, or decorative finish on top.

Specifications

  • Atomo is an excellent product with what is related to finishes applied on porous surfaces. For non-porous surfaces, Prolink primer should be used in its place.

Coverage:

  • 1L per 10sqm (Undiluted).

Number of coats:

  • 1+ coats.

Dilution:

  • Although it can be applied neat, we recommend diluting Atomo before use, at around 30%. Depending on the substrate, it can be diluted as heavily as 300%. The way to know if the dilution was correct, is to check the surface once atomo has dried, if the surface is matt, Atomo has been over-diluted. A glossy surface would indicate it has not been diluted enough. The trick is to aim for a satin look on the surface, this means the adequate dilution has been done.

Storage:

  • Between +5C and +35C for up to 2 years.

  • Atomo was designed with the goal of enhancing the adhesion of any primer or material onto a porous surface.

  • One of the biggest advantages of Atomo, is that it can reduce the consumption of the primers that are included with most of our range of paints. This is because certain wall types such as freshly plastered walls, can have higher than normal absorption levels. The use of Atomo can reduce this excess adhesion, ensuring that no more primer is needed than the required standard amount included in kits.
