TOP is the main, polyurethane sealer for the Continuo Microcement System. Component A is the main ingredient, as it determines the final sheen of the application. This can be Matt, Satin or Gloss. The component B is generic and is the same regardless of which component A is used. This sealer is made up of an A + B component, with water being added on top, similar to the Link component.  The ratio for Mixing up TOP is: 3.33 parts Component A + 1 part Component B. Once these have been mixed, 1/10th of the total volume of this mixture should be added as water.

Purchasing the complete Continuo Microcement System will provide a significant discount over purchasing individual components. These have been made available to purchase separately for specific circumstances where only one component is needed.

Specifications

Coverage:

  • Approximately 1.788L per 10sqm (2 coats). This is made up of 1.25L of Top Component A, 0.375L of Top Component B and 163ml of Water.

Number of coats:

  • 2 coats.

Dilution:

  • No dilution, instead the following mixture should be created (based on a 10sqm kit). 1.25L of Component A, 0.375L of Component B, 163ml of water.
  • The preparation ratio for Top is:

Top A 3.33 : 1 Top B. The total volume is divided by 10 and this is how much water should be added.

So 1.25L of Top A + 0.375L of Top B is 1.625L of solution. Now divide this number by 10 to make 162.5ml. (This is the amount of water to add (Rounded to 153ml)). This formula can be adjusted for any amount of Top that is to be prepared.

Storage:

  • Between +5C and +35C for up to 2 years.

Disclaimers

  • Unlike the Link, Continuo Top will not change the colour of the plaster.

  • The Top component should be applied in at least 2 coats. The more coats the better. It is also recommended to do multiple thin coats, allowing adequate drying time in between, than try to do less, thicker coats.

  • Any showers or floors should not be used for 48 hours after application. Light traffic is okay for the first 5 days, but no furniture should be placed on the surface until after 7 days. The Maximum hardness is achieved after 21 days.
