With spring upon us in the northern hemisphere, and the good weather finally approaching (fingers crossed), it may be time to think about refreshing your décor!
With spring cleaning, and decluttering, why not go the extra mile and give an up-to-date look to the walls as well?
According to the painting and décor industry experts, these are the colour trends that will dominate the design scene in 2025.
Deep Blues
Whilst blue seems to be a standard for bathrooms, and the baby blue tones are the go-to for the baby boys’ bedroom, a lot of other shades of blue colour have yet to be explored in most households.
The deeper tones have so much more to offer when it comes to creating an opulent atmosphere. It’s the perfect backdrop for statement furnishings and a great contrast with luxurious, metallic home accessories. In the darker versions, it is a bit less overwhelming than black, but it nonetheless lends a dramatic look to the surroundings.
The adventurous decorators can also take an extra step and match their furniture, as explained by the Ideal Home, and bring some monochrome styling.
If you want to introduce the deep blues in your home, we have some extraordinary-looking smooth and textured metallic paints, that are also easy to DIY!
The Navy Blue colour in Gimcyn can be the perfect colour for a feature wall, and the texture will also add an eye-catching detail! For those who prefer a more understated look, the Ombrone colour from the Tintoretto paint’s selection is the ideal choice. Inspired by the Venetian plaster look, the velvety smooth metallic finish provides a luxurious backdrop for your furnishings!
Dusty Pinks
Aside from offering a modern look that feels calm and refreshing at the same time, dusky pink (or dusty pink) seems to be a great balance between being too feminine and the impersonal feel of grey tones.
It is “the perfect blend of blush and beige”, and as it’s a light neutral, it is the best way to off-set stronger hues, and tone down other colourful pieces. Overall, it offers an understated look, whilst still bringing a touch of colour!
There is no limit to exploring this colour when it comes to wall coverings (and even furnishings), whether you’d like a textured or smooth finish, it will lend a minimalistic but stylish look to your home!
The Aquila and Triangulum colours from our Sioloc Suede range, are great choices if you’re looking to add some texture, without going overboard. Make sure to browse our full-colour chart for the wide range of hues that are available for our Venetian plasters!
If you’d prefer to add an extra feminine touch, the Pink Opal of Gimcyn textured metallic paint is a popular choice for many, and if you want to go the extra mile and have some glitter as well, the Petalite of the Gimcyn Luxury would be the perfect choice.
For those who prefer a more natural-looking finish with a slightly rustic look, our mineral-based Lime Eco would be the perfect choice. Aside from being highly breathable (the ideal paint for humid areas), it is also hypoallergenic and has antibacterial properties.
Warm Neutrals
Neutral tones seem to take on a new role this year, becoming the building blocks for a cosy but elegant design.
As we have seen seemingly all the different shades the light beige-grey hues can offer, design trends have started moving towards deeper, richer shades.
The Ideal Home pointed to warm brown-gold shades as a way to bring some cosiness to your home. And the best part is that you don’t need to redecorate the whole house! When it comes to neutrals, even in deeper shades, it’s hard to go wrong.
Our Gimcyn and Gimcyn Luxury textured metallic paint boast an ample amount of beige hues, but if you’d prefer to go for a more earthy look, check out our lime-based Concrete Paint for some of the cooler tones. The Sioloc smooth metallic paint can is the perfect balance between these two, especially the colours Pollux and Regulus!
If you want to add the same warmth to the texture, check our Tintoretto paint, which creates the perfect Velvety look! Click here for a colour chart!
Jewel Tones
According to House Beautiful, the well-known jewel shades will be here to stay in 2023. Don’t hesitate to introduce some of the deeper tones in your home, whether as an accent colour or a full-on statement colour in different rooms.
If you want to elevate your home décor, and add a truly luxurious element, jewel tones are a must! They have been used across all industries, but their use is especially well-known in decorating professions, as the deep tones add interest, but they are not overwhelming.
If you want to pair the beautiful tones, with even more beautiful textures, take a look at the Lapis Lazuli colour, of our pearly textured metallic paint, Gimcyn Luxury! If you like Emerald Green, the Delphinus colour of our Sioloc Suede paint may be the perfect choice!
Crimson Shades
As Viva Magenta was announced as the colour of the year for 2023, it’s no wonder the pinkish-red tones are still having a moment!
Pantone has a remarkable influence across all industries, concerning colour and design, therefore, the already popular magenta became even more significant as the colour was announced.
The different versions of magenta have been around for a while, but the reds with pink undertones seem to be the new go-to colour, from clothes to furniture.
It is inevitable and recommended to explore what the colour can offer in terms of wall finishes!
The trendy textures for 2025!
With the introduction of new colours, we can also consider adding some interest to the walls by playing with different textures!
As the new paint trends rise, so do the requests to play up those colours with different textures. Whilst we offer an ample amount of paint, with different textures, when it comes to wall coverings, we aim to take it up a notch. At Impera Italia the Italian decorative plasters are at the heart of the business, and as they allow for more flexibility in terms of application types, they are perfect for a completely bespoke finish!
Glossy Finishes
One of the trends we see more and more is the demand for glossy finishes. Whether you opt for a marble-like look or you want to give more life to colour by choosing a high-gloss polished plaster, the final look will no doubt impress your visitors!

Textured Neutrals
With the rise of modern décor, and the need to return to nature (after the overtly glam beginning of the 2010s) decorators are now looking for ways to bring the outside in.
The first thing that comes to mind is usually a lot of natural materials, such as linen and wood. But for those who are seriously committed to creating a serene and earthy interior, imitating natural stone textures is also an option.
Whether you want your walls done by a professional, or DIY, our Concrete Paint is an easy-to-use paint that will give you a textured, contemporary look. If you want a unique but understated finish, it is the perfect choice!
Even if you don’t want to go for completely rustic and nature-inspired decor, when you use an ample amount of neutral tones, it can look a lot more balanced when paired with different textures.
