The heavy Fibreglass Mesh forms a key part of the Impera Italia anti-crack system. This is the most efficient way to ensure no thermal or mechanical movement will affect the finishes created with different Venetian plasters or metallic paints. This is the only type of mesh we use, and it must be partnered with the correct basecoat, depending on the type of application. It can be used with Colbeton to create an anti-crack system for walls, or with Continuo or Allover Base for Microcement applications.

Specifications

  • The fibreglass Mesh should be pressed into a wet basecoat, then trowelled over to flatten. This is always done on the first coat. The aim will be to them cover up the rest of the mesh with the second basecoat.

  • We have tested the 168gsm mesh with all our materials and find that it works to fantastic effect. Having said this, it is important to consider the increased consumption of the basecoat that will likely take place in order to cover up this mesh.
